The sea-god Poseidon (Neptune) saves the life of the King of
Crete on his return from the Trojan war - but exacts a terrible price.
The king must sacrifice the first mortal he meets – who turns
out to be his son. Is there any justice in the world? Can human love
triumph over the demands of the gods?
